Tried, tested and true. This simple solution to an open deck design proved solid today. We continue to have issues with chipmunks in the backyard. I believe they’ve got an elaborate tunnel system back there. Popping up at random areas.

Today, while sitting out back, one scooted under the deck across the steps and caught the attention of the dog. He feels the “chippenmunken “ are threatening and thus will bark and attempt to grab them. Except….

Yes. He stopped at the grass gate and continued to verbally assault the rodent, but did not attempt to jump the gate to get to it.

Wasn’t truly sure how this would work and worried it wouldn’t be enough to hold him back. So so happy that it does the trick and is cohesive to look at while enjoying our view.

Pretty proud of my protector as well. Took a lot of restraint I’m sure. He’s a good boy!
