Water Everyday

This would once have been one of the most common ways of supplying water. Larger examples would be installed as community pumps, and are still in common use in developing countries as they only require human power to operate, plus some water to prime the pump - hence the bucket.

My example was bought by my father many years ago which he used to pump the rainwater, collected from his greenhouse roof into an old (and ugly) commercial liquid barrel, into watering cans. When the garden was cleared a few years after his death Mum gave it to me, and bought me a proper garden water butt to install it on where it now serves the same purpose.
