Poignant war memorial

I walked past this war memorial in a suburban street in Isleworth this afternoon. It is in memory of the students and tutors of Borough College (shown behind) who died in two 20th century world wars, and seems particularly poignant as this was a teacher training college. When you think of the large number of young people who were deprived of the education that these teachers would have facilitated, the loss is even more tragic.
