A walk in the woods
Today we went to the Nantahala National Forest in search of two waterfalls. After some miles of driving on a narrow dirt road we found the sign for the first waterfalls. A rocky, root filled trail in the shade. Lots of ferns and moss and some soggy ground. The trail was only a half mile but up and down hills. Laurel Creek Falls was really pretty and well worth the hike.
The second falls was Mooney Falls which was a five minute walk off the dirt round. Lots of water rushing here.
A good day in the cool mountains.
