Hospital day 5: Stairwell

Another day in the CCU. Oxygen requirements slightly lower. Respiratory physio attempted to help J to cough, but she found it hard to synchronise her breath with the cough assist machine.

I tried, as far as possible, to pop outside the building for a few minutes air each day, and always used the stairs, as it was my only exercise. I liked peering up and down the stairwells of the tall buildings, seeing the handrails recede in an ever tinier curl.
