Poised
We came upon this impressive five metres tall leopard called Poised in an enclosed section of Marischal Square. Created by Andy Scott the creator of many public artworks including the Kelpies in Falkirk, Poised sits atop a ten metre high steel column and was designed to bring a real presence to the atrium space of Marischal Square. It would be more dramatic at night as it is lit, but it is quite something in daylight nevertheless.
We changed our plans of going to the sea as the morning was wet. So we stayed centrally, found several sculptures, took shelter in the newly refurbished, and highly surprising, Provost Skene’s House and finally had a delicious lunch at Café 52. A lovely train journey back from Aberdeen, as it had brightened up and there were good coastal views.
