Independence Day of Ukraine

I took a walk at lunchtime looking for something historic for the Wide on Wednesday challenge. As I was about to go back over Calton Hill I heard people singing the Ukrainian anthem and then I spotted the crowds. I was wondering how I was going to get back to work when they started moving over the hill, so I just wandered with them to return to my office. At the other side of the hill they stood beside the memorial to the victims of the Holodomor and sang again and then a piper played a lament. (Extra).
