Ha-ha

This is the ha-ha that surrounds Botleys Mansion in Chertsey. A ha-ha is a ditch that prevents livestock from going up to a property, typically a country house, whilst not affecting the view of the landscape from the house.  Because it is sunk into the sloping grounds it can't be seen from the property. Why it is called a ha-ha, I have no idea.
