Scofers

If you say the word 'Scofers' in Gwernyfed School , the kids next word is likely to be 'Legend' She not only supports the teachers and pupils in term time but go's on the school ski trip solely to look after pupils who cannot/don't want to ski.
Last year one of the pupils lost a leg due to a rare form of cancer. The NHS leg is basic, enabling little other than walking. Before her illness Naina was an active girl who enjoyed sport including horse riding. Naina is very positive and is just starting to come back into school. She has discovered a prosthesis called a 'C'leg which would be more intuitive and allow her to do the things she misses. The leg costs £20,000. The pupils of Gwernyfed and the local community are helping her to raise the money. Scofers is knitting Bobble Hats and selling them for Naina's fund. My daughter Ellie did not want a hat so Scofers knitted her this tea cosy. It is awesome and we absolutely love it. The Bobble hats have become THE fashion item in school.
