Leaving

The Ebor Race Festival was on this week so we thought it might delay some of our buses.  Bronte was collected this morning by her dog Walker and I whizzed around the house to give it a clean.  Funny how easy it is to clean someone else’s house, but yet I hate cleaning at home!  Probably because I have so much “stuff” everywhere!  Bus into York okay, and then found a stop where the Coastliner and the Zap both picked up - allegedly!  The Zap was delayed, and when it arrived it whizzed straight past!  We therefore walked across the city to the station - this photo of the river being taken as we crossed the bridge on Ousegate.  As we reached the station there were people catching shuttle buses to the races, but a Coastliner had pulled in behind them so we made a dash for it.  The driver waved us all on as she said she just wanted to get out of the city.  Straightforward journey to Leeds and on trying to pay as we got off the driver said that the ticket machine was broken so the ride was free!  Bonus!  Not long to wait for the bus to Bingley and then a short wait for the bus up to the village.  Worked out pretty well all in all.
