Day 4 of Food Growing. Onions.

The Feast Day of St. Louis of France.
Birthday of St. Maria Faustina of the Divine Mercy of Jesus.
It is cloudy and 18c this morning but no rain.  There was some rain overnight. I went out for our newspaper, and when walking around the church garden, I noticed a sad looking pigeon on the top step in front of the priest's house. I later took it some small pieces of brioche and some water. I did not think it wise to move it or touch it, in case it had bird flu or fleas. It did pull on my heart strings, and I wondered if it was ill or injured.
After breakfast I went for a longer walk and was delighted to see the swan family and all six cygnets gliding along our part of the canal. I chatted to a lady on the tow path, who had come from Blackburn and was waiting for her hair appointment. We shared a love for cats, and she said cats seemed to know they would be welcome with her family. She showed me a photo on her phone of her present cat, black and white and looked like a cousin of our late Arthur, who I still miss very much. I walked on alone and saw a couple of men doing some serious brambling further up the path. Some blackberries had not survived the heatwave but others were big and fruitful. I saw some pink waterlilies, bull rushes and wild mint. The green algae is gradually disintegrating but no boats were moored up today near the Canal side cafe. A few people were sitting inside having tea and a chat.
The blip shows some harvested onions grown by an old man with a lot of  years growing experience. It goes to prove gardening and growing food keeps you fit.
Have a lovely day and thanks for dropping by blip friends.
