Diary of an Edinburgher

Big cowbells!

Pip was visiting again this morning, and it was his lucky day - Denise came to take Archie out at 10am, and she brought a friend with her. Would he like a dog too? Yes! So both dogs had a big walk up the hill.

Hazel came over for a coffee when JR came home from the gym. She came to admire the ‘new’ sofas, and while commiserating with JR on the loss of her beloved feathers, she agreed that the more ‘structured’ cushions were much more practical. We sat outside in the sun, and the weather got better as the day went on.

A young lady came to collect the unwanted feather cushions, and she was delighted. So was I.

Pip’s dad came home early and came to collect him, so we left Archie with his bone and went off to our first Fringe event - Cirque Alfonse - Animal.  They’re a Canadian group, speaking in French Quebecoise throughout. It was just down in the Meadows - not far to walk. And it was pretty amazing. Just a crazy circus/ dance/ gymnastic/ comedy/ musical event. They’re a multi-generational family troupe. What talented people!  Check out one of their future stars (Extra).

As we walked home, we took a wee detour to the wee Thai restaurant for a couple of yummy dishes.

It was a beautiful evening, just nice for a stroll, though the piles of litter everywhere are just most upsetting. The sooner they get this dispute sorted, the better!!!
