You can't see me
I took the boys up to the Lake District today, the husband joins us tomorrow, I leave Tuesday, he (they) leave Thursday. It wasn't supposed to be like that, it's just that things have collided a little and we need to be a in few places at the same time. A whole lot seems to be going on in a very concentrated time!
We stopped en route at Fountains Abbey, which I love and has lovely memories as some friends were married at the Church within the grounds, so it's always nice to come back. The eldest had a bit of a moment as we explored the abbey, I had been on the phone for what felt like an age (and I hate being on the phone when I'm with them), and he needed his lunch, quickly (at 11.30!). Food provided and all was well in the world again with them. I managed to get them to walk the longer walk, ice-cream at the end (much deserved) and we'd all done at least 10,000 steps.
Arrived in the Lake District to beautiful sunshine having left the rain behind at home. Final meeting with my supervisor for the dissertation, it can be handed in now, but she would like some more work just to make it better, she's very happy that it's a good pass - so just a bit more, it feels never ending!
Today I'm grateful for:
The husband who has helped keep things on track whilst I'm being pulled in many directions
The boys who were great having a lovely long walk and looking after the dog when I had to go on the ice-cream run, they felt very grown up being left in charge of the dog whilst I was in the shop
The calm of the garden here in the Lakes
