An ordinary life....

Happy Gotcha Day...

Five years ago today we drove to Carole's house and picked up the cutest and cuddliest little bundle of fluff.

Oh my, we were smitten from the start but despite thinking we knew how much hard work puppies were, we really didn't have a clue, so the first few weeks were rather stressful too!

Now we cannot imagine life without her.  I call her my baby girl and I really do love her like she was my child.  She makes me laugh and feel loved every single day and constantly astounds me with her sensitivity to situations, particularly around Alan.  She instinctively knows when he's not feeling great and will go and sit quietly with him, often putting her head on his knee.  Thankfully he's in such good health these days are now few and far between, so she's more likely to just go and chill with him and watch a film :-))

She's had a few extra treats today and fish at tea time and after posing beautifully for me (not smiling, too busy concentrating on the treat being waved above my head! :-)) she is now zonked on the garden room floor.  The last five years have just whizzed by!

In other news I had the house to myself today and was determined to get this week's drawing exercise completed, which I managed to do!  It's a charcoal drawing of a rhino (I've been saying hippo all week!) and I enjoyed doing it, even if I looked like a chimney sweep's apprentice when I was done!

I still have two charcoal landscapes to complete from last week which I will aim to do during the rest week at the end of this module, which coinicides with our week's break at Loch Tay, so I have no excuse not to get up to date.

Ele messaged me earlier to invite us to a birthday dinner in a couple of weeks, in a restaurant near her to celebrate Kenny's 60th birthday.  Looking forward to that.  I am struggling to come up with gift ideas for him though.  Always end up buying him golf related stuff but want to get him something different for a change.  Any ideas gratefully received!
