Auld Shed

A lovely warm and sunny day.  Mostly blue skies, a bit more cloud in the afternoon, and then a sunny evening.  A fine breeze too.

Up early, and made the best of the good weather, two loads of washing out on the line.  Popped by Madeline's on our morning walkies.  Got on with house chores in the late morning.  Headed out walkies in the afternoon.  A quiet shift in the shop this evening, and now an early night.

I had to change my plans for our afternoon walk, no parking due to the fine day, everyone had the same idea.  Instead we headed looking for an old broch, which I didn't find either!  But I did stumble across this old byre/shed.  When I was a bairn, there was plenty of old outbuildings that looked similar to this, especially up here in the north.  Sadly they have mostly disappeared, either falling into ruin or demolished for a new bigger shed.  This building really should get listed and saved, this look needs to be recorded and saved for future generations to see.  It has a Scandinavian look, almost like a Faroese building.  Taken below Burravoe, North Roe, Northmavine.
