How the year is flying by, it feels very like autumn here.  We had a dampish day, the rain was not heavy but kept on dripping down.

The news of the bin strike is not good, and we had no bin uplift on Wednesday, so it looks like we are now in the thick of it.  We don't have a heavy rubbish load, being only two people, and we have four bins, all for separate items.  But it will be hard for families, and particularly in the cities.  I have great sympathy for the bin workers, who kept working all through the pandemic when many of us were isolating at home and protecting ourselves, but I do hope that an amicable settlement can be reached soon, as it will take some time for the clear up, especially in Edinburgh, which from the pictures on the News looks just awful.

I had lunch with Maeve today.  We had our usual long chat, we never run out of conversation, old friends are such a wonderful asset.  Bob had a quick lunch and went to call on his sister, but had no luck so called in at a mate instead.

We eventually met up and did our weekly shopping.  So the fridge and freezer are all stocked up again. Next Friday they will be needing a top up again, it is amazing how much food we go through.
