RLU

I went out, out today for work. I travelled to the hipster ville of Beckenham Junction to meet a colleague and carry out an appraisal. To get there I had to change trains at the "Crewe of the Thames", Bromley South.

Trains from Maidstone might crawl north towards the capital but from Bromley South they are non-stop. There are other trains which serve the exotically named hamlets which are dotted along the line to Victoria, like pearls on a string. Places like Herne Hill - doesn't that speak of bucolic beauty? Perhaps a windmill with its sails lazily cutting through the afternoon breeze? Or one might pick a train on the mysterious Catford Loop; I think it's a land-based version of the Bermuda Triangle. To visit these sites of excitement and wonderment we have to pause at Bromley and prepare, gird ourselves for the adventures ahead. On the way back out of town we reflect on what we have learned during our time in the bits between Bromley and the river.
