The long, dangerous trek south begins
Not for us, that'll be a long trek NW tomorrow, to port and home. :)
The super calm weather has brought the first small birds of the year - flycatchers and warblers - hopping across the boats and platforms of the North Sea on their way south.
Unfortunately for them a male peregrine has also arrived. He's a handsome looking bird, but too canny to stay anywhere long enough to point a camera at. He is steadily slaughtering them - little piles of feathers and blood in various corners and a flycatcher corpse floating alongside. An impossible situation for the little birds - minimal chance of escape across miles of featureless water...
