Super Rare Mambo Culture
When I have had a no photo blip day I end up scraping something together at home. Given my reason for blip at these moments I want to record important things that I have collected.
These are two pewter Mambo girls from the cult Mambo clothing brand. One is obviously hand painted and one is in it's cast pewter silver finish. These are the only two that exist in the world.
They were created to replicate the image on the Mambo clothing label at a point in time about 15 years ago. At that time I was working on designing large custom built consumer promotions mostly around things like in pack cereal toys.
I had these done for a pitch to Mambo. Hand built and made. The intention was that these would be sold in store and online throughout the world as Mambo figurines.
The project never went ahead but I held onto these and to me they are priceless. They are so accurately built and have the Mambo logo built into the hibiscus flower they are standing on. The photo doesn't show it. They stand about 6 inches high.
I did think to myself that Lazooligirl
would like this picture for Lady Button Monday but she can always cut them out and re photograph them.
Hope you like them and their story.
