2022 Friday — Naked Lady Flower

Even after all the disturbing of soil in our back yard this past month. We still have a Naked Lady Lily growing through all the rocks and dirt. We were quite surprised.

These flowers that bloom every August used to be a sign to me that it was time to get back to SoCal and prepare to return to the classroom. I am beginning my third year of retirement and the freedom to not need to prepare, to not need to return is so delightful.

Making the decision to retire was quite difficult; it seemed quite ludicrous to let go of something I had loved and enjoyed so much. But I was 70 and had 30 years of fulltime teaching accomplished.

Now — I love retirement. I can’t believe I waited so long.
