returning from my last festival gig in the wee small hours, I noticed these sculptured thistles on Market Street for the first time .

Nicely stylised I thought, and well lit, not always the case with public street artwork. So, despite the excessive heat earlier on, and malodorous waste heaps latterly, it was great to see the city teeming with happy, colourful life.
