Walk by Montpelier to Morningside and the Royal Hospital grounds. Looked around the vegetables gardens; there are a lot of beds and plots. 
Thinking this is a cardoon rather than a globe artichoke, falling over somewhat despite being ground tied. Back along the canal. Sunny, light breeze in open places.
