But I spent most of the night watching the drummer, a guy from Liverpool sitting in for these gigs, who they said had played with them for 8 hours.

They've been together for 30 years, but he was still learning as he played, taking queues from a nod, shouts of 4 or 5, raised guitar neck and jumps in the air.

He didn't put a foot wrong.

He also hit his kit hard.
