I was out earlier than yesterday. First to Bowness for a wander and some photos then up to Windermere for a few bits of shopping. I was home by 8.40.

The main photo was lucky. I tried cropping it but decided I like the empty lake effect. There’s an extra with more birds and for those who like a landscape photo I’ve added a view looking north.

The rest of the morning comprised ironing and financial calculations (based on records I’ve kept from the start of August) to give me an idea of monthly outgoings. I did get a shock when I added the figures up.

After a short afternoon walk a local builder popped round to offer advice on various house projects and suggest suppliers and tradesmen.
