Attention!

I've been to Pashley Manor in Kent today to see the tulips. The displays are glorious but everything is blooming later than usual this year. It struck me that the flowers are beautifully behaved and doing exactly what was told by the wonderful friendly gardeners here who had time to talk to every visitor. They told me that once the display is over they are all dug up and beds replanted with dahlias and annuals. Fresh tulip bulbs are planted every autumn to create new and different displays. And what do they do with the old bulbs? They distribute them to surrounding charities and needy causes! How wonderful is that?!
