We decided to go off to The Slaughters today as we've been meaning to do so all year but hadn't got round to doing it.
The Slaughters are two lovely small villages just off the Fosseway near to Bourton-on-the-Water in the Cotswolds. We live less than 15 miles away.
We parked in Upper Slaughter by the village hall and walked along a well worn path across fields to Lower Slaughter where we found they were holding their annual village fete.
All the usual stalls there, tombola, bric a brac, cakes, and others. A lot of people there as well but not crowded. Ice creams all round.
The photo shows folks sitting on the banks of the narrow and shallow River Eye which runs through the two villages. Lots of footbridges to reach the other side.
