On top of the hill
Another warm sunny day and we gave our son the choice of what we did. He chose the circular walk that goes inland along the river and then cuts across to the coastal footpath. A lovely walk with lots of variation in scenery. He hadn't been in this area for a while so was quite surprised at the changes that have taken place along the river as part of the Otter Restoration Project.
As soon as we started a young heron flew off along a back water stream and it was there again as we returned. We didn't see much wildlife and very few butterflies but did see some wheatears, house martins and swallows. Were all glad we didi the walk relatively early in the morning as it was fairly hot by the time we returned home for lunch.
Todays blip is of the trees that sit on top of a small hill above the river, taken as we started our walk.
An afternoon of catching up on things on the computer including downloading the Peak District photos. It seems ages ago that we were there now.
