A Day In The Life

A Wing and A Prayer

When stems from sunflowers get bent by nosy deer or high winds, I cut them off and stick them stem-first into a raised bed hoping birds and squirrels will snack on them. Today I was rewarded by this visiting male goldfinch. What fun! • Back to summer temperatures today so I watered the veggie garden and any flowers needing a drink. We’re definitely winding down with September approaching. It will be a busy month of harvesting and closing down the garden • Speaking of harvest, I picked our first rainbow chard today and tomorrow may be leeks • Did I tell you we found a tomato horned worm in the tomato foliage? Gives me shivers to think about it. He went for a trip down the banking while clinging to a tomato branch. His fate is undetermined…a beautiful moth or a tasty snack • What a start to the week :)
