On it's way past Carnoustie to Dundee.

Had an eventful evening last night just before 11pm when I noticed water drops pouring through one of the lights in the bathroom, seconds later saw a bigger wet patch on the ceiling and another one in the kitchen and the extractor fan was dripping water onto the worktops too!

Frightened of what might happen next, I ran upstairs to the person above me banging on their door to let them knon, but there was no reply! So ran back downstairs to even bigger and faster drops, I wasn't sure who to call or what to do, and had all sorts of thoughts going through my head thinking that the person upstairs might have collapsed in the shower and the water is still running and he/she may be lying there unconscious or worse, so I ended up phoning 999 and asking for the Fire Brigade, after all they do help rescue cats from trees, so hoped it was the right thing to do.

It wasn't 15mins later, and we heard the truck arrive with it's flashing lights, thankfully no sirens, and 3 fire fighters were standing at my door in full kit, ready for action!! Felt a bit embarrassed at this stage wondering if I'd done the right thing by phoning them.

The guys were great, they listened to what I had to say, went upstairs and banged harder on the door, eventually got the guy awake, and he admitted to them that his shower tray wasn't draining!! (I mean REALLY!!!!) they were all back downstairs to tell me this, and re-assure me that it shouldn't carry on any longer, but not to turn on the bathroom lights.

I thanked them and apologised for phoning them and getting them out for such a trivial thing but that I'd not known where it was going to end up and didn't know what to do, but they replied that I wasn't to worry, it was all part of their job, so that was really nice of them.

Is it terrible that the whole time this was going on I was thinking of how to ask them for a photo as a blip!!!!! - I didn't though (too shy)

Had phone calls throughout the day from the landlord, the building Factor and a contractor who came to take measurements for a quote. Landlord popping in later tonight to check the damage.
