Magenta Blossoms ...

... probably a butterfly bush, late this afternoon, opposite the cemetery. A recovery  day following yesterday's long drive back from Tamworth. Poignant to leave, but it had to be.

This evening we've been watching an extensive farewell to Serena Williams following her win in the first round of this year's US tennis open. I must admit I was impressed by how genuinely moved she appeared to be be the whole event.  Her four year old daughter Olympia and husband Alexis carrying her  were much in evidence. Serena's arrival with her sister Venus have transformed the world of tennis over the last couple of decades.
