Green woodpecker

We had a visitor this morning!  My son managed to get a photo.  (The lawn looks awful in this - it does honestly look way better than it did overall!)

Stuart and I had a longish walk this afternoon.  It would have been longer, but the heat of the sun along the main road was too much and we turned back the way we had come along the footpath, which was more shady.  It went up to 26C today apparently.  I have been watching some of the tennis at the US Open.  The weather there is crazily hot and humid - I really do not know how they can play tennis in it!

Tomorrow we have a Tesco delivery in the morning and, in the afternoon, Duncan the window cleaner is coming and also Dean, the boiler man is coming to service the boiler.  Dean rang up and said he would still be willing to do it for us, even though we are further away from Worthing now (We hadn’t asked him to come, as he did it as a favour last year and said he wouldn’t normally come this far.  He has serviced two different boilers at our last two houses for a number of years and we trust him).
