Nearly there.
Approaching Calais I am always struck by the spaciousness of France. The joy of driving on French autoroutes was soon exchanged for a ten minute queue to get through the Blackwall tunnel.
It was a brilliant trip with great support from both daughters and families. Plus the wonderful hospitality of Frank and Nono at Chalet Nono when I was in Montriond.
Home now and enjoying a tasty roast chicken leg and thigh I bought in a butchers before leaving Rouen. Washed down with a glass of rosé from the Ile de Ré.
Perhaps a model for next year?
