Bougainvillea blossom

I have fond memories of Bougainvilleas from my childhood. We used to annoy my dad by plucking blossoms for a variety of silly childhood purposes like trying to dye things, and making stink bombs. I feel pretty bad about all the all things we did to annoy him.

Bougainvilleas don't grow outside in New Mexico, at least they don't last thru the winter outside. This is my first attempt at one in New Mexico (I found one in a hanging pot), so we will see how long I can keep it going.

Today, I give thanks for the day I was given, friends, the baby, the Rio Grande and blue skies.
