To rotavate or not to rotavate?..

Finally finished spreading the compost from the bins today. Bins are 8' x 4' and 2' 6" deep, had three to empty, wheelbarrow, and spread. You can see where on the top section around the brassicas.. The compost had been accumulating from last summer, a mix of weeds, grass, seaweed, and chicken manure. These three bins have rotted down quite well, although there were some docks in one. mental note: Don't put docks to compost..

The patch for next years Brassicas has been ploughed at the bottom of the croft, the rough bit to the left of the rushes, and I need to rotavate it, and where I've spread compost. Almost put the rotavator on the tractor, but the wind got up, there was a spot or two of rain in the air, and the forecast for tonight is not good.

So do I leave it, hoping it will dry quicker, or rotavate and get a sodden mess by morning? I chose to leave it.

Beautiful first thing, and for most of the morning, but turning increasingly cloudy.

music, just because I requested it on Radio Scotland's "Get it on" show.. Doubt it will get played..
