Doric Columns

Abandoned and derelict places of worship litter the shire. Most are roofless and have empty windows. This one near Wells of Ythan is unusual in that it retains both. The tractor and big bales suggest that the congregation has long gone. In the Doric it is likely to be described as a teem sotter wi a puckle o' moulds needin made richt.

In a way they remind me of Tibet. The monasteries and holy sights places were desecrated by the Red Guard during Mao's reign. As a mark of unrespect the Chinese kept pigs in the Jhokang Temple in Lhasa.
