Agatha Christie's dining room
Professor Plum in the dining room with a candlestick !
Lovely trip up the river Dart by ferry to visit Greenway (National Trust): Agatha Christie's summer house (see extra).
That camel in the background is dated circa 700 - 756AD! The house is full of all sorts of ceramics like this and other objects that she & her husband collected or brought back from his archaeological digs.
On the dining table is a glass jug from which she poured herself double cream to drink! Apparently she was tee-total but why she drank double cream is beyond me!
All in all, a really interesting visit to a beautiful, peaceful location. I can see why she called it her dream home. The grounds are stunning. They include the boathouse which inspired the murder in 'Dead Man's Folly' (see other extra) and was apparently built by Sir Walter Raleigh.
