End of summer

Dropped by Hergest Croft Gardens, near Kington, and went for a wander in the kitchen garden. Very much a feeling of the season being past its best, summer dying back, and autumn not quite there yet (although the apples and pears were starting to look good). These impressive seed heads were on a clematis arch. There was a certain air of melancholy about them which I thought lent itself to mono. Just a grab shot with my phone, but I rather liked it.
