Home from home
This has been our home from home for four weeks, and today we went from that home back to our home(s) in England.
We tidied and cleaned the house, yesterday, and put all our belongings on the spare beds in one of the other rooms, so all we really had to do this morning was pack, and then we were ready to go, feeling a little tug on our heartstrings as we walked along to the car, as if we were just going for our morning swim.
A brief stop in Akrata for takeaway coffees and breakfast, and then we were back on the new national road to Athens. One of life's simple pleasures for me is a journey by car with the Minx, so I enjoyed the two hour trip, at the end of which, we handed over the car to the lady from the hire company, and got ourselves checked in.
The flight back was fine although Manchester airport was chaos: thank heavens we weren't travelling with small children! As it was, we just had to be patient. Eventually, though, we were through and in a taxi back to Salford.
(We had planned to go to the Everyman, this evening, but it was such lovely weather that we met up for a drink with Yoss instead.)
