One of the goldfinches bathing in the bird bath

On our return from the market I was pleased to see the bird bath being appreciated. when I filled it with clean water earlier today, it was full up. They are rather being rather profligate with scarce water.

Actually I think it is the pigeons that are the worst offenders as they displace so much water when they sit down. Unfortunately they also seem to like to use it as a toilet. At least this was clean today.
