English paper piecing

A new technique for me.  A lot of cutting out - fabric and paper pieces.  And then all hand stitching so quite slow.  I've been experimenting with tacking and glueing the fabric onto the paper pieces I think I prefer the slower tacking method - but the paper kept moving when making the hexagons, so I compromised with a dab of glue to hold it in place whilst I tacked.  

W came upstairs to tell me it was coming up 6pm - I had no idea it was so late.  That's a good sign I'm doing something enjoyable and engrossing.  The only machine stitching will be fastening the finished flower down on to the background fabric.
