Not so sunny sunflower

Joined my wife at the allotment this evening for watering duties. I was struck by the size of these sunflowers on a nearby plot, although sorry to see they had lost their sunny faces. Perhaps, if the sign in the extra photo is anything to go by, they could have done with some more trespasser compost.
