Turf luck

Walking past this reminded me of a Japanese Karesansui garden - and yes, I did have to look the name up. This is in Princes Street Gardens and, for the moment, is bringing a little Zen to douce Edinburgh.
The reality is however that whole areas of the gardens have to be re-turfed as a result of the many and varied Christmas market and amusement rides killing off the grass underneath them. Every year they dig up these areas and this is the final stage before the new turf goes down. It'll be nice once it's finished...
