Definitely Not The Stone Roses!

Tonight was a night that I never thought would happen. I saw the Stone Roses about 20 years ago. Not long before they completely imploded.

Didn't than blow they would ever get back together, so was feeling incredibley excited when they eventually arrived here in Mexico for their 1st ever gig here.

Hoping to get some photos of the gig, I brought along my camera, but was extremely disappointed when my EP1 was taken from me for being 'semi professional'. At the same time, I realised that I'd left my phone back at some pals place I'd been to before the gig. So no photos whatsoever.

Upshot of that was I probably enjoyed the gig much more for not worrying about it trying to get a girl is shot of them.

And they were great, utterly fantastic. Ian Brown may have a voice like a braying donkey, but that still didn't stop them all from sounding imperious & wonderful.

Long after the gig had ended, I ended up in The Black Horse, which is where the above band were noodling away in their jazzified way. Emergency Blip Mode kicked in and I fired off a quick few shots.

Between insobriety & really poor light I was amazed I got anything usable. But I quite like this shot, especially the drummer's expression.

So only another 20 years to wait till I see them again. The Roses that is!
