Chambord

We drove across to Chambord, hunting lodge of kings from the 16th century right up to the French Revolution and the overthrow of the monarchy in 1792.  It is under renovation at the moment, but is no less striking even with the scaffolding in place. On to Amboise where we walked around and had coffee al fresco. Back into Bracieux and our hotel for the next three nights. We have a little apartment looking onto an internal square where we ate self catered food and sipped a glass of wine.
