A Mancunian oddity

Started at the turn of the 20th Century, Trafford Park was the world's first industrial estate. Laid out in an American-style grid fashion, with streets given numbers instead of names. Streets and Avenues. US firms, such as Westinghouse, Harley Davidson and Ford, set up shop there. It outgrew the grid system and is now massive.
