2022 Thursday — What a Day!

At 7:00 this morning 8 pallets of Allen Block were delivered. Mercado was waiting for the delivery truck with two of his big and tall construction trucks and some of his guys. He had the delivery guy put 4 pallets in the bed of one truck and 4 pallets in the bed of the other truck.

Then they parked each truck in front of the lot next to our house and used several heavy wide planks of wood for the team of men to walk the blocks from the back of the trucks onto the lot to stack the blocks. It took several hours for them to unload the trucks. Then Mercado drove away in one of the big trucks and returned later with the bed filled with gravel.

Our daughter texted us this morning to let us know she was coming back to be with us. She’s met with her doctor to take care of the paperwork she needs to remain on disability for a couple more weeks as her school district HR department looks for a position for her that would be better for her physically. In the classroom she has served in for for 10+ years, her supervisor has told her, they have a new group of students that have many behavioral issues and it might not be the best environment for her. We’re delighted to have her on the coast with us for however long she is able to stay.

Because our backyard workers stayed so late into the evening, we had not fixed our evening meal when Mr. Fun received a phone call from friends, John & Linda, who actually live inland between Atascadero and Paseo Robles in a place called Templeton. They had just been to Cayucos to walk their dog on the beach and then they drove over to LoLo’s Mexican Restaurant in Morro Bay and both said, “We ought to ask Mr. Fun & Rosie to come join us.” So they phoned and we were an immediate “Yes!” and explained that we had our adult daughter with us and they said, “All three of you come to LoLo’s!” So we did. John was one of the team of 3 who did our home re-do in autumn of 2016. We thoroughly enjoy the 2 of them.
