Dunrobin Castle Library
We spent the day driving up to Thurso through the rain, mist and sunshine! Half way we stopped in at Dunrobin Castle near Golspie. It’s been home to the Earls and later Dukes of Sutherland from the early 1300s. Their love of hunting game is obvious by the preponderance of deer heads around the place with plaques saying who killed the animal, when and the animal’s weight. There’s a pair of lions in the library which had been turned onto rugs.
