Limbo
Lovely day mainly with Mt&H and the wee ones before AR starts back at school tomorrow (and Mx starts big school for the first time shortly after).
Slightly frustrating drive down with a long hold up on the M1, but once I arrived it was straight into the usual hurly burly of meeting the new kitten, hearing about their holiday in wales and general non stop chat. Sat in the kitchen with Mt&H, chatting about holidays, house buying, London living vs other options, gardens, cars etc etc as the two whirlwinds and pets zoomed in and out. After some lunch we had a wander to Oakwood park and they examined the depth of cracks in the clay soil, speculated about earthquakes and magma, played on the slides and swings, poked at the duckpond water and reeds, collected and scattered acorns, led me through their secret paths, and finally did some limbo dancing (it’s all about leading with the chin apparently!).
Home and a last cup of tea before leaving. Was lovely that we all just sat and chatted together…I’d thought they might have needed me to just take the kids away to let them get on with jobs but so nice to just catch up and have a natter.
Drove straight to hospital and saw P who seemed quite content, although thinks he’ll be home soon and I don’t know just how long it will take for the care package set up. I’ll chase tomorrow. We found his watch….thank goodness….and he seems not to be bothered about the strap any more thank goodness. Chatted about places he’d recommend for us to visit in Australia.
Back to T&Kt’s and straight into dinner with Kt’s family before they go off on trips to Australia (H&L) and France (J) this week. T had made his famous lamb dish with salads of veg from the allotment….delicious! (extra). Did some knitting afterwards then bed. Good day
