Junction Lock Fradley

The five locks at Fradley junction are almost inevitably busy.  We tied up after the first two locks to have a walk in the Fradley Pools reserve.  This proved interesting, however, nothing out of the ordinary was seen.

The blip is the third lock in the series of five, the one immediately before the junction.  Kat got a bit of a surprise as she was preparing to leave the lock, an ex-working boat came out of the Coventry canal, turned, and ended up with its bows (4 or 5 feet above the water line) almost in the mouth of the lock.  A 70 footer (canals are always measured in feet because they were built in feet) can't turn without going into the throat of the lock and then backing off if necessary.
