And they're off

This is one of the contraptions they use to start the horses at the same time. Earlier this week they moved it to do some work on it for a race, and I took a picture of it today while the angle remained good. The dog isn't too fussed with it, though now and then he does roll in horse poo if I let him. His mummy isn't so pleased if he gets home smelling of horse poo so I do try to stop it...

As you can see when I took this picture the grass was pretty cooked. We've had some rain since I took this picture but it's still looking pretty sad.
